Good thing he has a clever, resourceful daughter (who has the Autobots to back her up) to keep them all safe. As the season played out, Professor Sumdac becomes more aware of his mistake, and puts himself into jeopardy even more than usual. Megatron had been deceiving Professor Sumdac, making him think he was one of the good guys, yet asking the professor to keep his identity a secret. Professor Sumdac spends much of season one unknowingly repairing Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons. Young Suri does also have a father, who appears in most episodes. It works in the classic Kids Rule! fantasy way – every kid can imagine how they, too, could save the universe. It may seem a bit ridiculous to give all this power to an eight-year-old girl, but it works. Of course, this battle began in space and moves to Earth playing out in the Detroit area. The evil Decepticons want to use it as a weapon, the Autobots are trying to keep Sari and the Allspark power safe. The Allspark is the source of all Transformers life. The show centers around a young girl named Sari Sumdac, who has possession of a key that has powers from the Allspark. If you missed the movie, we'll catch you up real quick. Again – would be nice to have it included here, for newcomers to the show. The movie, Transform and Roll Out! is actually considered the first three episodes of the series, and contains the origin story for the show.

This first season picks up following the Transformers Animated TV movie, which is unfortunately not included with this set (but was previously released on DVD). It's not sophisticated or especially clever, but it is fun. It's a basic storyline show – bad guys fight good guys good guys win for now and end episode.

This new Transformers show is for the kids – or the young at heart who enjoyed the original Transformers series.

While most cartoons these days aim to educate and teach children classical music or foreign languages, this new animated series is a throwback to the good old days of Saturday morning cartoons.
